This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... Hey fellow Aussie stinger owners. I’ve never been one to be hardcore into cleaning my cars regularly but with the new stinger I’m keen to keep her pristine and shiny. It has had ceramic coating applied from the dealer so probably not the best coating available but it’s in good nick.
im currently using Maguires foam wash with a high pressure hose and a big green Bowdens towel to dry it off which works a real treat. I want to know what ceramic coating spray is best to use once the car is cleaned to keep it shiny and coated with least fuss.
cheers

I use Bowdens Own products, Nanolicious, Fully Slick, Leather Love, Leather Guard & Naked Glass.
Bowdens Own Cloths: Big Greeen Sucker, Drop Bear, Square Bear & Big Softie.
I also use Meguiars Waterless Wash & Wax on lightly soiled only for a quick detail.
I don’t use a pressure washer nor do “snow foam” pre soaks IMO it’s a waste of time, I just give the car a good soaking with the hose.

I noticed they had quite a few different products. It’s crazy how many different products and brands are on the shelves these days. Many are just great marketing ploys no doubt.

True, but Bowdens products are Aussie made for Aussie conditions & all are safe to use on modern cars.
Have a read of their history on their website.

@AUStingerGT I was like you, my last car I let the local car wash guys at " Magic Hands " wash it but not my Stinger, I and I alone wash her. She had ppf and ceramic coat applied and the detailer advised to use neutral ph products on her, most of Bowdens products are safe. So I use Nanolicious, boss gloss with the big green suckers. Detail clean and fully slick on the chrome parts. I only use microfibre cloths and wash and dry them after each car wash so there is no debris etc that can cause scratches/ swirl marks.
I use the two bucket wash method with a grit barrier in the buckets and bought a container to store all the products because there were so many of them ........

A couple of my favourite products.

303 Aerospace Protectant for interior detailing, it gives a nice matte finish and has spf sun protection.

Turtlewax zip wax car wash soap... now hang on before you roll your eyes on this one. After 2 decades of washing my cars I've come to realize that the best way to get good suds and protect your paint while hand washing isn't about buying expensive soap. It's all about using a ton of soap to great a slick surface, turtle wax zip car soap is pretty cheap but nice and thick and sudsy, which means you can use a ton of it for each wash without really caring.

Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax. I finish every handwash with this stuff, you spray it on each wet panel and hand dry and it gives you a great shine and a little bit of protection between washes over your existing long term wax or ceramic coat.

Wow, nice one! I’m giving the Meguiar’s New hybrid range of ceramic detailer and spray wax products to use after washes and between waxes a crack first.
The two bucket method is now in play too.
I have 3 cars, one which needs a complete paint makeover so I’m preparing to get that done on the weekend!

Sorry l gotta disagree with your last few lines of your comment...o_O
You can't soak the grim off or break it down with a hose and just water, only way is to give it a thick coat of snow foam and let it do it's thing.
It's great for the wheels especially the brake calipers, also gotta use pressure washer it cleans so much better...nearly 1 yr on and not 1 fine line in my paint and spotless brake calipers...;):p:thumbup:

Mine is my daily driver & it too is also undercover at home & at work, living in Sydney the car gets mainly dusty when it’s not raining so I see no point in pre-soakers but each to their own.

I didn't buy Bowden's snow foam, Iv'e been using Polar Alert by Auto Glym it's $39.99 and I still have a fair bit left which hubby commented is a minor miracle considering how often I wash it.
You haven't " christened " your car yet ?, if Iv'e newly washed it and it rains next day  I will try to use my hubby's car instead or hopefully not need to go out at all :)

I was going to try the Auto Glym as seems to foam up as good as Bowdens, I check the radar before we go out lol :D just clocked up 5000k's in 11mths,...I even foam the rear suspension  cars still like new underneath :)...I think I have a sickness.

Speaking of cleaning I left the key fob in my pants and it went through wash cycle  lucky it came out fine and still works as normal, I wonder if anyone else has done this ?????

Haha mines black and I get anxious looking at it in the garage collecting dust. I’m tempted to buy a $20 car cover from Kmart just to keep dust etc off it. The black bloody shows everything.

Or you could have got a color that doesn't show the dirt!

cause it’s Fucken hot when it’s clean
I’m with you on that. I’ve got micro blue, it shows the dust badly but boy does she look great when she’s clean.

Also I pretty much use all Bowdens stuff, I’ve got some car wash left provided by the dealer made by a mob called Protektiv who did the paint protection but I’ve got a bottle of nanolicious waiting to go when it’s done. I use Bowden snow job with my pressure spray sometimes it’s enough on its own without a full wash if it’s only a bit dusty.

I haven’t washed her now for a couple of months due to work/weather/water restrictions and to be honest she still looks good. Plan was to wash it today when I woke up after night shift, but it’s pouring rain so I guess not. She got mother nature’s wash on the drive home

There, I fixed it for you ;)

So few kms in such a time period. Me thinks good sir it is you that needs to go to the naughty corner.

If you drive it any less Kia will come and take it back for improper use. It’s in the fine print in the warranty :p
