No all Australian males where called Bruce- at least in the Seventies. The Goodies lampooned this in there show. At school any Unfortunate Aussies were immediately called Bruce and pronounced with a nasely snarlHaha. Not quite built for that, at 6'2" and ~200lbs.

I don't doubt it. But reference to Australian males in my schooling era was taken from the Goodies skit where by all Australian males were not as Bruce. I'll try and find it and post it.
