Hello,

I am on a journey to pick up a kia stinger gt2. I'm not in a crazy rush as I have other cars that I lease. I reached out to every kia dealership within a 50 mile radius and NOW IT STARTS!
just wanted all the help and info you guys can provide in helping me secure the best deal.

so far I received,

2019 kia stinger gt2 white on red - OTD $54,350

2018 kia stinger gt2 - $34,500 before taxes, fees. has 3k demo miles on it

It would probably help if we knew 50 mile radius from where...

Ah, you've already updated this to $42K-something on another thread; otherwise that would be a fantastic deal.

Yeah. The dealer said it was a ‘misunderstanding’ im just looking to be under $50k otd. Seems impossible. Reached out to about 30+ dealerships. All that did give me a price is around $53-$55k. They all say theyll price match but i need one to come in low!

Search the forums there is already lots of information on pricing and how to get the best price. You should be able to get a 2019 GT2 AWD for $43k OTD

Yeah right... Someone post their bill of sale showing this deal...

Yeah. I dont know about 43k. These dealers arent budging from 52k otd

everyone.

This is the deal I got.

GT2 AWD ceramic silver on red int.

MSRP: 54,500
SELL PRICE: 48,450
Fee: 495
NY TAX: 4,532.67

OTD: 51,350

3k down, 66 month finance at 3.9%

can someone tell me how much monthly will be?
I want to pull the trigger on this right now but theyre telling me it will be $816. should be more like $760 on my calculation

EVERYONE please help. I might pick this up today

ok final numbers.

GT2 AWD CERAMIC SEILVER with red int

MSRP: 54,500
SELL PRICE: $51,072.33
SALES TAX: $4,532.67
FEE: $495

REBATE: $4750( not taxable and comes off at end)
3.9% at 66 months = $816.44 for 66 months.

This is extremely confusing. Does this make sense. When I do the calculation, i come up to $760. sales manager said it was like $5,500 in interest at 3.9 apr which i think is wrong.

Other option is
MSRP: 54,500
SELL PRICE: $51,072.33
SALES TAX: $4,532.67
FEE: $495

REBATE: $2000( not taxable and comes off at end)

0% at 66 months = $778.03

Of course the 0% is better but can you guys confirm if $816.44 is right for the first deal?

And overall, is this a good deal?

which dealership is this? NY tax seems pretty high...

Yes, it makes sense. However, you are actually paying sales tax on the full amount of the rebate, i.e., you would pay sales tax on the sales price before the rebate is deducted. NY also charges tax on all dealer fees. So in the first example, your monthly payment is determined based on selling price + tax + fee - downpayment - rebate = $51,072.33 + $4,532.67 +$495 - $3,000 - $4,750 = $48,350.00. 3.9% for 66 months on $48,350 = $817/mo., $53,929 in payments, $5,579 in interest.

oh fair enough. So the second deal.

3k down and $778 for 66 months. is this a good deal?

2nd deal is better if you make payments throughout loan term, option 1 is better if you pay off right away. I'm not a financial advisor, but it may benefit you to do a little more research and consider going a little further outside the nj/ny area where they may not be as willing to deal. These deals you are getting are probably very average. Some on here will talk up some kind of really low 'out the door' prices, but you will never attain those low numbers due to the massive tax hit new york imposes. A couple questions for you.... What are the options on the car to get it up over $54K MSRP? Also, have you looked to see what the current lease cash deal is currently in your area? Leasing then quick buyout or purchase refi have benefitted lots of stinger owners due to KMF's attempt to compete with the germans (i.e., most bmws, mbs, audis are leased). Early lease buyout in NY wouldn't be as usurious as TX, but I'm not sure if you would be double taxed on the amount of vehicle leased.

See NY publication 839. It looks like NY requires that taxes on the amount of vehicle you are using be paid at lease inception. So for example, if you leased and the cap cost minus residual was $20k, you would pay NY state and local taxes on that amount. NY only refunds taxes on a lease in event of a lemon law enforcement. So if doing early buyout after 1 month of leasing, you would have to pay taxes on the entire buyout quote resulting in around $1,800 more than if you went the purchase option. If the taxes were financed in your lease (and remitted to NY upfront by the dealer/lessor) there is probably some way that the dealer covers themselves getting that money back. Doing a 2 year lease (currently, $9400 lease cash, or maybe plus an additional $1k, $10400 total if available on gt2 awd) may make sense even if you were to not do buyout early and simply buyout at lease end. Especially if you can get a money factor of less than 0.002.

this is the window sticker for the car.

I'm not exactly sure how the lease-buyout works in NY. ive read numerous threads on it but its confusing.
I see a jacked up price. This is a simple Google Fu search for MSRP Kia Stinger GT2 2019: msrp kia stinger gt2 2019 - Google Search How does that dealer get the price $4,300 higher?! "Options" and "inland freight and handling" are totally bogus add ons. MSRP includes Kia delivery charge.

2019 gt2 awd msrp =$52,400 plus $995 inland freight and handling plus installed options for total msrp. all cars have a destination/freight fee on the monroney label, it's only suspect when the dealer adds it, or a similar handling fee, in again.
