Well, I make about $150,000,000 in auto loans each year through dealerships, so yes, you could say I a finance officer.
Get snitty about it

Now now....Lets not act like the guys on the BMW forums, LOL.
So, here it is, the choice I must make: Get the base GT GT for $34k plus delivery, or the local GT2 for $41765. My primary interest is in the better stereo. I don't want to go aftermarket.
So what do you guys think? The base GT or the GT2? Both are red and rwd. Should I spend the extra $7.5k? I am definitely on a budget.
I really think it makes more sense to get a GT, and if you get a used one you can get an amazing deal. The higher trims of this car do not make sense to me because I can get a Tesla Model 3 which has a stereo and interior that is magnitudes more luxurious than this car starting at $39K. The whole loan process through Tesla is haggle free unlike 99% of what you deal with elsewhere. You could even lease one for $399/month, and pocket the $19K and use it to stabilize your credit. I say this as I have a Tesla Model 3 in addition to my Stinger. I know what I am saying is controversial, but the niche of this car is that it's an affordable sports sedan.
In my opinion given that my GT has the drivewise package I was only missing the following:
- NAPA leather seats - When I first looked at these seats, I was expecting something more premium, I was disappointed. From what I have read people either love their NAPA leather or are extremely disappointed with how they are holding up. My GT is my dog car, lol, so I was concerned with which would hold up better to the abuse. I'm pretty sure the base leather is much more substantial, or abuse tolerant.
- Adaptable Suspension - I knew that if I upgraded to aftermarket coilovers this feature was moot, and the difference between comfort and sport should have been more significant for this to be worthwhile.
- HUD, Screen, Gauge Cluster Screen - This is something that isn't really discussed but there's a significant difference between the gauge cluster in the GT vs the GT1+. However, in comparison with the full digital displays that are becoming more common, even the GT1+ features seem dated.
- Stereo - I do wish the stereo was better, I will admit that, but I will be doing an aftermarket setup, but it is still decent.
- Sunroof - Added weight, added noise, and generally problematic.
In light of that I went with a limited GT for $35K. For those of you that said that MFG posted interest rates are a scam, I only have this to say, you only get what you believe you deserve, if you believe you deserve a high interest rate that's what you will get. Negotiating is all about using whatever leverage you can use against your adversary.
Good stuff guys, keep it coming.
I was in aware the lift gate was gt2 only. Love that thingI drove the GT, GT1 and GT2. All were "fully loaded" in their respective trim levels.
There was something about the shift lever, AC seats (at the time only GT2) and the power lift gate that sold me. Not to mention the NAPPA leather, HUD, adjustable dampers, and the HK stereo.
The '19's are a little more equipped and the trims are blended a little bit better. The '18MY was best in the GT2 trim, however times change.
GT2 if you have the cash, the lift gate and HUD are the money makers for me. Beyond convenient.

Picked up a white GT2 with gorgeous red interior. WoW! $41,500 before TTL. Got a 66 month loan for 4.9%. The car exceeds expectations, especially for the money. This car is worth 50 grand all day. If there was a feeling the opposite of buyers remorse, that is what I am feeling right now.
CONGRATULATIONS! So OTD was 44k?

The only thing "killer" about those prices is the killer monthly payments you make on a 2 year lease to get those big discounts.![]()
I want this deal as I'm paying cash !
Good luck with that!
