Has anyone installed their cargo net or did it come installed? Does it only lay flat and not vertical to allow say grocery bags to rest inside?

The dealer gave me the net yesterday and I only see hooks on the ground not a higher one, but have not tried installing it yet.

I haven't installed mine yet either. I believe it only lays flat, to hold what you put under it in place.

A mat, cargo net and a tray came with mine. Not sure how I'm gonna work all those out... LOL

LOL, I'm with you. I have the mat and tray also. Was looking forward to using the net for groceries but it may not work. Will be interesting to see if it's useful or useable.

Ah okay! Thanks for confirming, saves me some time trying to install it differently.
There is quite a bit of "stretch" in the elastic corners . I've found that if you release 2 sides ,fold the net to the tethered side and place your items in the middle , then lift the net over top and secure the other 2 sides it holds things well

Cool, thanks for the tip! I will definitely try this too

It keeps a container of 18 eggs safe. LOL

In Australia, we can purchase a Cargo Organiser from Kia , no Cargo Net.

First photo is from Kia's website, the other two, i photographed last week, when i visited my dealership, who had a Sunset Yellow GT-Line in the showroom, with the Cargo Organiser, in the hatch area.

Cargo organiser is good, would have got this but already had one, folded flat in R/H side of picture, the other item is a picnic blanket.

I'm not crazy about the flat net that comes with the Stinger. I used it today and the tension is fairly high which makes for placing items underneath it mandatory 2-handed operation. In addition, some groceries such as bread, are delicate and would get compressed.

When I had my A4, it was of a similar design as the Stinger's and I always much preferred the Lexus' (upright) design as it allows for top-down easy loading and keeps items secure without risking compression. It also keeps the rest of your cargo area free for bins, boxes, or larger items. It's also easy to remove and takes up no space. Very efficient and practical.

With the A4, I bought the upright cargo net and made my own holes at the top to install it.
I'll be looking to do the same with the Stinger.

Totally agree, I am not a fan of the flat - haven't used it yet but installed it today. I was wondering if the Stinger's hatch is deep enough (especially at the front of the hatch) to install a vertical net. I've never had a net before and def was looking forward to having a vertical one for easy loading. Just one on the list of a few things I'm missing on the Stinger so far.

I do miss having a hanger on each side for plastic bags or a net. First thing I noticed - besides all the room - when I opened the hatch.

I actually prefer the hangers. They've worked well for me in the past. I think having both the hangers and the net would be great.

Agree. The A4 had the hangers and I added the net as shown above to make the cargo carrying of loose items/groceries really effective.

So I got the vertical cargo net and installed it. See DIY thread below for anyone interested!

DIY - Vertical Cargo Net Installation

This is a very practical setup and btw, we can easily fit 4 grocery bins in the cargo area!
