Where is the best way to run the wiring for evc exhaust from the cabin out?

let us know how you install the Varex EVC. I should have mine early next week.

I had it installed, but to run the wiring you will have to pull the spare tire and battery, the grommet is right underneath. That was cut and resealed with silicone, and the wiring was fastened internally to the battery harness.

I plugged it in to the backseat outlet for now. I will wire the smart box later.

Also the right side will rub the drive shaft bolts on deceleration or hard left turns. Be sure to check that out with a test drive, and adjust if necessary.

Clearance is less than an inch between driveshaft bolts and exhaust

Why would you not just connect it to the battery? 12v is 12v and that plug is just 12v. Cut it off and add an inline fuse and connect it to the battery.

I thought about it, I would think that would be a constant power drain and I haven't decided where everything is going yet.

I'm very happy with the Xforce exhaust, it's much louder than I thought. That's probably due to the catless down pipes that are included. Overall, the exhaust tone has a lot of character, and I think I like the exhaust closed rather than open, unless it is under high rpm.

Waiting on that good old sound clip video of in the car and outside!

Let us know how the Smart Box goes for wiring! wondering how it will go - Clean install wise i am having a hard time on how that is going to work with the OBD2.

I tested out the smartbox tonight, after testing it I wouldn't recommend hard wiring it unless you have some sort of cutoff switch. I had to restart the smartbox because it could not reconnect to my phone's bluetooth.

The install is pretty straight forward, there is one set of wires that plugs into both varex mufflers the smart box/standard varex box and the 12v plugin. If you use the smartbox then that long set of wires plugs into the smartbox, and then there is a special cable that hooks the smartbox back to the original box (for key fobs). I was pretty intimidated at first, but wiring up the box(es) is no problem.

I tried recording the audio it just didn't turn out.

Drone isn't bad in the quiet mode, but it is pretty bad from 1200-1800 under load in open mode. The smart box would allow you to keep it closed in this rpm range and open it up at a higher RPM range. Smartbox has controls for speed, rpm, throttle %, which will open or close the Varex muffler at whatever percentage you wish.

I wouldn't drive around in open mode unless I planned to keep the RPMs up. Honestly, it feels like it bogs down a little bit when the drone hits while open. Right now I am running it in open mode over 2500 rpm, and closed always with the wife in the car. Wife still thinks it is too loud even in closed mode.

My friend says the drone is better than his Ark, even while open, which is good considering there are no secondary cats in my car.

Here's a video, I posted it elsewhere, but for completeness, here it is:

Am I crazy or is the 'open' clip louder than the 'closed' clip?

It seemed louder open than closed to me, but no much difference. It also didnt sound anywhere near as good as the ark. This is really low :(.

Also the tone was not great at all imo. Idk I hope that's not the case.

Open should be louder than the closed. These exhausts have different character, the Xforce exhaust has more burble and fluttering notes within the exhaust while driving, and less drone while closed. My goal was to have an exhaust that was more bearable with the cat deletes. The difference in volume is probably due to the absence of resonators in the Ark exhaust. The largest difference between open and closed is the drone, and the volume under load at high rpm. I think once I have a lot more HP then there will be a significant difference between the two modes. His car also has an intake, and I do not have my SSR intakes that I ordered back in October ;/. To be honest, if it were any louder while closed I wouldn't be happy.

But it seems just a touch louder than stock for 1200 lol. Damn. IDK i think i jumped in to early, but ill do a fair review on these.

Did you order the Xforce? These are really significantly louder than stock, sooooo much louder.
