I have been seeing more and more used GT2 with low miles going for low to high $30K range.

If you had been thinking about a stinger GT now is time to buy nice low mileage 2018 GT for huge discount.

Man hard to go wrong with GT with couple thousand miles on the clock for so cheap.

Sucks to us guys who bought new GTs in mid 40k range but wow what a deal for those wanting a stinger GT with few thousand miles!

I bought my Aurora Black '18 GT1 NEW in the mid $30k with a 22.8% discount back in Dec '18. Not blemished or otherwise a previously loaner/rental. Why buy used?

However, I'm glad that the used price is in that range. At the end of this year when it's time to trade it in, I might come out even or lose a small amount :)

Im seeing used GT1's dip into high twenties not as much of a loss as GT2 people have seen but for car that has few thousand miles discounts on used are awesome. Depreciation is smacking these cars hard. Should help to bring all prices down on new cars as well.

Its going to be harder and harder to argue that Stinger isn't performance bargain of the decade as prices continue to drop.

Damn I thought I was getting a deal for fully loaded GT2 in mid 40s. Now seeing them in low 30's . I rarely lose this much on new car. Sucks for me but man it makes this car so much more affordable for those who have been dreaming of a well made GT car.

Im betting in couple years GT1s will dip below $20K.

These cars should be half their value after three years. Huge depreciation (always expected) but a great used deal!

bought mine used...only way I was gonna even touch a stinger...not that I'm broke, but child support is not something to treat lightly.

I'm not seeing that here but I think it's because there were so few Stingers sold. In a 200 mile radius, the cheapest used GT2 I see is 39k with 16k miles and a GT1 at 37k.

Used ones seem to be holding their value really well up here in Canada. Nation wide only 24 are listed used and you can't get any of them for less than 40,000 CAD when MSRP on new ones are 39,999 CAD for a GTLine (2.0T), 46,000 CAD for a GT (similar to a GT1) and 49,999 CAD for a GT Limited (GT2).

They seem to be very rare up here. Either they arent selling well, people are holding on to them, or both. Either way the used prices are crazy and I dont think people are buying them. I see the same ones listed for awhile.

Plus, when you take exchange rate into account, the price we pay for new ones in Canada is a screaming bargain. A used one for $40K $CDN here translates to $30K $USD.

Y'all have to understand CaliSting's position to understand his post.

You see, he hates his Stinger. He frequently reminds us of that fact (take a look at his post history). He also hates that we DON'T hate our Stinger. So this post of his is a trolling in disguise. He's trying to make people feel bad about their purchase. Read between the lines.

Regardless, for shiggles I decided to do a search on Autotrader to verify his claims of "more and more", "couple thousand miles" , "GT2" for "low to high $30k range."

I gave his criteria some generous leeway and searched for any GT2 OR GT1, with any mileage under 15k, within 500 miles of a random California zip code (since he's in Cali, allegedly).

My search came up with 6 cars.

GT2. 9k miles. $43k
GT2. 14k miles. $40k
GT2. 12.5k miles. $44k
GT2. 10k miles. $49k
GT2. 14.9k miles. $44k
GT1. 13.5k miles. $39k

When I changed the search criteria to match his claims of "couple thousand miles" and "low to high $30k" the results were exactly ZERO cars available.

And his claims of seeing GT1s "dip into the twenties"? An Autotrader search of the entire United States turned up ZERO results, again.

Tldr; Misery loves company. Don't be his company.

I was surprised by his post so happy to see it was basically proven false.

Out of curiosity, CaliSting do you have anything to backup your claims to prove your post isn't just a disgruntled owner trying to bring the rest of the community down with you?

Looks like I stepped into a real forum mess on this one. I ran the numbers on Autotrader myself and @Kamauxx's point with regards to the rather few available GT2's at that said price, looks to be accurate. Will keep my eyes on the market as things progress.

Yes, please direct me to a GT2 in the mid to high 30's. Preferably Ceramic over red :)

Yeah I've been checking "new inventory", on all the sites and haven't seen any deals like those he mentioned

Not disgruntled at all? I have both positive and negative experiences with this car. Sorry but not everything that Kia has done related to ownership experience meets my expectations but I’m far from disgruntled. I love my GT2 when it’s not in shop having warranty repairs performed.

Do yourself a favor and run one of many online market sales price data for used GT2. I have seen several gt2 on eBay motors go for under $40k.

But hey if you can find a $40k cash buyer in Nor Cal for my loaded GT2 send them my way! According to you that would be a bargain! Lol!

Edit nm not even going to bother...

To be clear, as a Canadian I don't think you'll find any of us up north that think our southern neighbours are getting a great bargain, at least not while we pay a 37,500usd MSRP up here for the equivalent of a GT2. It amazes me how different the pricing structures are between Canada and USA with this car.
