ECU Speed Limiter

do all stingers have a limiter of some sort or just the ones with all seasons?
they all do i beleive summer tires is like 155 and all season is 135

167*

155 is the limit the Germans put on their cars.

We have identified the limiters and raised them, verified on the dyno... now I have to find a road long enough to test it on.
Yes, please: what can you do to raise the limiter as high as possible? This is an intellectual question, for my own edification: I don't actively plan on going anywhere near 167 MPH, much less beyond.

(But, if I had purchased the AWD 18" limited type, which I understand to be at 140 MPH, I'd definitely want my car raised to do 167 MPH: and if I was having a "tune" to raise the limiter at all, why stop there?:P Raise that baby as high as it will go! Then I could thumb my nose at all those "slow" 167 MPH Stingers: that would be getting one back on everybody who had been faster than me.)

Well, I can raise them to a safe point, somewhere around 200 MPH. I rarely go over that for legal implications.

I believe all of them do...the All Seasons just have them limited much lower.

Sales@Tork, do you know if the Kia tuned the AWD w/18" any different than the AWD with 19"? Meaning, if I were to swap the wheels to 19" and Michelins, would I have the same performance up to 130MPH?
There are some calibration differences, hence the higher boost levels from the AWD vs RWD models.

If you were to swap wheels, there would be no difference in performance, outside of the wheel weight differences.

I hate taking 180 MPH tires out past their rated limit on the dyno. I have seen tire failures on the dyno at excessive speed and its very damaging to the car and dyno.
I think that "Y" rated tires are in excess of 186 MPH.

didn't know that, I wonder what the real top speed is...
I will repeat this bit of "local" lore: a few months back, someone posted from Europe (Germany, iirc), saying that they knew of a fully modded Stinger pushing some enormously raised HP rating, that had been relieved of its speed limiter and had been taken to "203 MPH". Later, we've seen KPH pics of the speed indicator at over 190 MPH equivalent (I wish I had the first chance of finding that thread; can't remember the exact MPH): that was from Korea, again iirc.

I remember seeing something also.

ALL THAT IS UNHOLY! 200 MPH! GOD DAMN THATS FAST!
keep in mind this is on a dyno and not on the road. I'm fairly certain a bolt on/tuned Stinger can not reach that speed on the road. The fastest tuned car I've seen with video evidence is 300 kph, which is just under 190, but that was also a G70 which is a little lighter and has a slightly lower drag coefficient.
