Once, a few years ago I was traveling on the I35N/I10E from Eagle Pass to Spring Texas. In the distant I saw a dust cloud, the rear flashing lights from 2 cars, a truck and the highway police patrol turrets. The truck transported gravel, one car had the windshield cracked, bad, and the insurance company agent (State Farm is there, yes) car. The police agent was searching the truck driver, in fact, he was bending over the patrol hood, I thought the guy infringed a state law plus the damage charge. Needless to say the Texas highways are mainteined in very good shape.
So, your police and your highways shape accomplish very well, because your taxes is working and it's worth paying them.
Yesterday, I was driving in my conmute way to home on a bad surface highway where the trucks transport gravel or coal, overloaded always and throwing carbon stones to the pavement and the car windshields, hood ...you name it.....The police patrols are conveniently ab$ent. Frequently I have to maneuver to avoid the coal rocks, but I could not do it this time, so my front passenger tire stepped over a carbon or gravel stone, I felt it and listened a hit, the steering wheel pulled to the right and the low pressure tire warning light and sound were present. I pulled over and yes, the Contienetal contisport contact 5 (large name, short quality, at least in my country.....I deduce they are intended for first world countries like yours or the european ones) blowed up. Thank to God, my Stinger kept the straight line ( just took my foot off the accelerator and let go) and avoided a spin and the wheel did not suffer damage. Picture added.
Now, I am going to get rid of the first world rest tires, I do not want to know or hear about these expensive tires ever, in spite of I have a tire insurance. Following the suggestion from my trusted mechanic, I purchase already a Toyo Proxes T1 Sport kit.....japanese tires designed for the mexican (very bad) roads. This tire brand are a very good tires, with a fair price proven on my former 2010 Nissan Altima SR, on my wife and son VW Jettas....
