About 4 weeks ago I fitted the Xforce 2.1/2" primary catback exhaust with varex mufflers. Baisiclly all went well as afr as it can without a hoist. Had the car up on 4 jack stands and it took sometime to get the old one off. All but 2 nuts gave away easily, the two hard ones were at the primary cats. For awhile there I wasn't sure I could get them off but with some WD40, some patience and lots of effort they came away. Fitting the new one was fairly staright forward, working out where to run the wiring took a little investigation. Whilst there is a grommet underneath the battery the wires would be squashed and in any case taking/disconnecting the battery is a bit of a drama so. There's another where wires stick out the side toward the front of the car so I cut a section outa' that grommet and siliconed it back in afterwards. Running the wires through the car was very easy and with a fuse-tap the hook up also very easy. Becuase I have Remus tips the position of the muffler tips becomes very important and this is where my time was spent, playing arround with 3 of the four sections to get them looking perfect. The kinda' unfortunate result was the new exhauts mid-section stiing a bit lower than the original and fowling the mid-brace. Fortunately the business I work for has a 25 year relationship with a local engineering company. I had them cut the brace, bend it down 15mm and weld a joining piece back in, they did a supurb job and for free. The brace is back on and it fells exactly as it did before this mod. All up I am very happy with the result and as far as the sound is concerned I like, not too loud and for long trips I would definietly turn the sound down.
