Hello all,

Had my 2022 GT Elite lowered on the Kia supplied Eibach springs, and I'm running 19" staggered Toyo Observe GSI-6 winters on the factory rims. We have had some crap weather with some icy roads and even if I'm just coasting straight, it feels like the rear end is going to spin out so easily. Anypne else experience this? Could that be a result of lowering the car? Are the Toyo's just sh!t tires?

Every shop around here recommends the Toyo's and this is the first time I haven't used x-ice on a car. The X-ice have always been great.

No, but I'm using the Toyo Observe G3-Ice with studs. IME, the studded vs studless debate is usually centered around snow and non-ice conditions, where yeah, doesn't make any real difference. If driving on ice though, ice that gets impacted and built up at intersections, ice that results from no sunshine in areas for months due to low sun at north latitudes, ice due to frost depositing on the roads (black ice), studs make a huge difference in stopping, turning, starting, etc. AWD will get you moving without studs easy...but it's almost self defeating without tires that match the conditions, since it gets you moving faster than you can brake/turn pretty fast. I'm effectively lowered, since these tires are slightly lower than my summers, as I had these tires that I used one season on my last car, but again, no traction issues like you describe. I set my custom mode for 50/50 power and sport response...as my winter "fun" mode.

It's the tires, might slip a little easier around the corners because you're suspensions is tighter
