Since the Stinger's driver assist features are only SAE level 2, they require full driver attention to be maintained because they aren't perfect.

Where have these features let you down the most? Which worked best? This is not meant as a gripe fest but more as an FYI so we know what to watch for.

For me, the major let downs are:
  • "Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go" can't reliably stop if the speed of the car I am approaching is too different than mine.
  • "Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go" is much too slow about accelerating from a dead stop when I am following another car. It allows for far too much distance from the lead car at first, later catching up by going faster than the lead car then braking to match the speed. I'd prefer it be more comfortable with shorter distances when taking off from dead stop, accelerating at a rate that roughly matches car in front of me but that also allows gradually increasing following distance as speeds increase.
  • "Lane Keeping and Lane Following Technology" tends to mildly oscillate with constant left and right corrections even on straight roads.
  • "Lane Keeping and Lane Following Technology" gets confused on curves.
Where I have been helped:
  • "Blind Spot Detection Technology" might have saved my bacon once.
  • Collision alert has helped me avoid some extreme braking a couple of times. That said, it sometimes is more aggressive than I would have been.

I like the sound of 'saved my bacon' and might turn blind spot warning on. my wife drives the premium more than I do and I will feel better if she has that assist.

I don't use cruise control as I want the brake pads to last longer.

We don't have Stop/Go here in Australia.

It's also a routine for me to turn off LKA when I start the car.

Blind spot alerts have mostly been false alarms.

Collision alert is a tad too aggressive, that I agree.
