Fellas, I’ve been pondering buying a 2018/19 Stinger GT2 for about 3 months non-stop, and I am hopped up on YouTube videos and Coffee. I have about $8-$10K for a down payment, and want a 60mo loan on Used GT2 with red interior.

I see a few cars in my areas at non-Kia dealers hovering at $38K ~11-15K miles. A little steep. I’m looking for $34-$33K. I have a 720+ score and have been in convos with 2 credit unions. I want a monthly payment under $450. I feel like I’ve done my homework and I’m so restless!

Should I continue to wait for the cars to depreciate into my range or pull the trigger? Should I wait for the 2020 model to release? What do you think is the best deal I could get on a red interior GT2? Should I do the lease buyout thingy? Anything helps.

It's your budget. Only you can know/feel what is right. People make foolish decisions with money all, the, time. Having a thing is ruined if the crushing weight of debt is too much stress. Buy what you know you can afford. Price isn't the top priority within a budget: knowing what you really want is top priority. We can't always have what we want when we want it. I'm sure after experiencing the Stinger that I "want" a Koenigsegg Agera. The Stinger is enough.

It depends how strict your budget is. I wouldn't overspend if you have any doubt there's room in your finances for it.

If you were to go beyond $33-34k, at that point it may be worth going for a new '19 GT1 with lease buyout unless there's some GT2 specific features you really want (keeping in mind the '19 GT1 adds cooled seats).

Depreciation on '18 GT2's has been around $400 a month lately. At that rate, it could mean as much as 10 months additional depreciation before average list prices hit $34k. However, if you're able to negotiate $1-2k off and/or get something with 20-25k miles you may be able to cut that to 5 months or so.

You can check out this thread for more used pricing speculation.
