Hi Stinger fam,

I'm planning to get the front fully ppf'ed this weekend but noticed this yellow blemish on the hood. I've tried using Iron remover, Isopropyl alcohol and even went as far as trying to paint correct it off....but it still stained. I've ordered some tar/sap remover coming tomorrow but any ideas what this is???

Its yellow like rust but the iron remover isn't working. Using Meguiars I can see other iron deposits but this one doesn't change colors like the others so I'm thinking its not?

My OCD is going crazy lol if I have to ppf over this its going to bug me. HELP! Its smudged in pretty good. If I look at it at an angle I can see some distortion in the paint kind of like what I'd think sap or bee poo would be but can't tell for sure...

You hit the bug guts from hell and they stayed on too long and soaked into the clear coat. My guess. A stain cannot be removed if it has darkened the clear coat.

I fully appreciate and sympathize with you on this. Ima OC myself about such things. Try not to add "D" to it though. Ha hah.

If Bug Guts have been baked in the sun and left for a period of time can etch into clear coat and leave staining, as they are "Acidic"
I have had success with using a "Water Spot Remover" when regular washes left some stauining. (Mind you, the guts were only on for a few days)
