Waze loses location in Android Auto

Hey everyone.

When I connect my Samsung S7 to the car (GT1), AA loads up fine and the car connects. I select Waze and the map up as expected. However, as soon as the phone screen goes to sleep, the system seems to lose GPS and my location on screen wanders or doesn't keep up with my actual position. As soon as I wake the phone up (still connected), the GPS immediately kicks in and my location is accurate again .

Has anyone had something similar happen? It's pretty frustrating and defeats the point of AA if I have to keep accessing the phone to keep the location accurate.

Sounds like a setting on the phone, to allow GPS while app is in the background (or, in this case, when the screen is off)..

Looks like this was because I was using the battery save function, which turned off the Waze GPS when the screen goes off . Turned off the battery saver and GPS worked even when the screen switched off.
