About to buy a used GT2 and need to know if the 10 year warranty transfers to the second owner? Through the VIN?

    Thanks

    Don't think so:

    Exceptions: Hyundai and Kia
Although Hyundai and Kia are well known for offering the best powertrain warranties in the industry -- 10 years or 100,000 miles -- these legendary warranties aren't transferable to a new owner. Fortunately, the warranty doesn't become completely invalid when a new owner buys the car; it just changes to 5 years or 60,000 miles of powertrain coverage

With the great lease incentives and discounts on the Stingers now (still a lot available), it makes sense to look into doing a lease then buyout on a new one.

If it's a certified used, it does..so as long as the dealer has certified it, it will. That's the way it was explained to me from our Kia dealer when my DIL bought a used Forte from them.

In Canada the warranty is 100% transferable. It follows the car not the owner.

I made sure of this before purchasing the extended 200,000km 10 year warranty.

Extended warranty is transferable in us as well but just standard power train warranty isn't.

not a chance...but they (the dealer ) will offer a 10 year /100,000 mile warrantee that you pay for, which is actually better than kia offers on a new car.......bumper to bumper....and everything in between....and I mean everything!

There are exceptions if you look at pdf for platinum extended warranty.

I did it! Purchased a GT2 last Friday and drove it home. Now I have to fix the former owners neglect. How do you get the smell of smoke out of the interior?

G’day, welcome to the forum & the Stinger Owners Fraternity, nice ride...leave all windows down all night if garaged will help & maybe go see a detailer to have it deodorised, should have got your dealer to throw that in during negotiations, unless you bought it privately.

In Australia any residual warranty on the car carries over to the new owner.

although a ''powertrain'' warranty....you can buy a bumper to bumper with a small deductible ....thats whatI did, way tooo much stuff in these cars that can go wrong, but the companies' reliability is growing so the purchase to me was take no chances,ya get what ya pay for.
