I'm a big fan of the Audi virtual cockpit, and wonder if anyone has seen any details on how the instrumentation cluster is used for displaying information.

Are speed/tach analog? Or is the whole cluster a big display that can show a bunch of different stuff (similar to virtual cockpit).

Thanks in advance!

No virtual cockpit of any kind. Four analog gauges (speed, rpm, temp & fuel level) and depending on trim level, an LCD center display of two different sizes. The center display can show thinks like average fuel economy, service alerts, driver assistance settings (adaptive cruise following distance, etc.), in sport mode it can show things like a lap timer, etc.

Thank God, Kia chose the analog design ethos. The Germans take on esoteric electronics to set them apart, but don't really know how to get these things to work seamlessly and with long term reliability.
