Do these really make a difference or is it more for the looks?

No proven dyno or track improvement from what I've seen.

Thanks, I do like them for the look but hard to justify even with the discount $250 for something that does nothing more then add a little character to the front grill that most won't notice.

In theory it will bring more fresh cold air to the air filter. The oem seems a bit restrictive where this is more free flowing and direct.

There are no proven dynos but I am believer that every little thing helps.

I personally have them and like them. I agree the price is a bit steep.

Thanks Angel always good to hear from an actual purchaser and I'm a sucker for a sale :) Secondary DP's go on today with dyno before and after because of a deal it's the first mod, was going to do intakes next and again with these on sale might have to get them and do them with the intakes once I decide on which ones.

There a great combo with intakes. You wont regret getting them.

What intakes are you getting?

@Angel , did you notice any substantial change to sound with these? The noise from just the Injens helps make my commute tolerable, wouldn't want to lose any of that.

No change on sound. Only intakes will change sound, and only when WOT.

But no you wont notice any sound difference.

I can't decide LOL I like the ones that come with the red pipes but just because they are red want more red under the hood plan to get the red BMS braces, seems the ones that come with red pipes might not be the best option as far as sealing off from the heat of the engine. I don't know I'm such a newb the more I read the more I change my mind LOL

I did before and after testing and found the temps at the filter of my K&N intakes dropped quicker upon acceleration with these.

A dyno can’t prove the effectiveness of these unless you have a dyno with a variable feed span that matches wheel speed.

As others have said a dyno is not the right tool to measure performance. Not even a fan is enough to recreate the frontal dynamic pressure that is seen when the car is going 60 mph. You'd need a wind tunnel for that and those cost millions. We've seen increases in throttle response, reduction in wastegate duty cycle and increase in air mass (about 0.3-0.4 lbm/min). For cars like these that have undersized turbos, the added compressor inlet pressure and reduced inlet temperature bring down the compressor work load (RPM) given a target boost pressure for a boost targeting tune. For a load targeting tune you'd see a drop in compressor speed and WGDC which increases compressor efficiency, :)
