I like the look of the Premium Nav (on Genesis) a lot better than the standard version on our Stingers. Has anyone attempting installing a premium Nav update to see if can be converted? I would assume for a given model year the HW is exactly the same. Any success?

Howdy and welcome. I have no idea what a "Premium Nav" is. My NAV upgrade (a few weeks ago) looks pretty premium to me. The changes I've noticed are all good ones. I like the way it says, "you've arrived at your destination" particularly: instead of overshooting and connecting your position to the checkered flag with a lengthening dashed line (and then no way to "cancel destination" except turn off the car; with the scale automatically set to 50' when you restart; that was annoying). I also like the altered perspective graphics: so that the more you "zoom out" in 3D, the higher your view gets: instead of a fixed perspective at all map scales.

Kia has two versions of Nav (Standard-Class and Premium-Class). Premium is in the Genesis cars and Standard is in our Kia's. It honestly looks like a skin on the entire user interface to make it look much more refinded.

That screenshot shows a size that's no longer in use - that's the old G80 screen. I don't know if it would play nice on a different size screen, and it's certainly an older build than the pink/purple update. You might lose some functionality both in new updates and in cropping/scaling. As far as I know no one has tried yet - how comfortable are you around code?
