Hey guys so quick question. I recently installed the Ultimate Performance downpipe midpipe combo and the after I finished took it on a drive and loved everything about it. The next day tho whenever you go to turn the car on I hear a grinding noise for about a minute to 2 minutes from the engine bay then it goes away. As well as whenever I do a turn there is grinding or a rubbing noise. Has anyone else had this happen when installing these downpipes or any other down pipes? Also I had just the front of the car raised on jack stands and I know AWD cars when towed should only be on a flat bed cause it could mess up the DIFF. Could This be the same concept? And could it be the DIFF rubbing or grinding?

The reason for putting AWD cars on flat beds (or putting the non-lifted side on wheel dollies) has to do with damaging the drive train from one set of wheels spinning and the other not. It has nothing to do with lifting one side and not the other while stationary.

As for your grinding sounds, honestly I have no clue what would cause that just from swapping out the exhaust system, unless it's a heat shield vibration. But you said it also happens while turning.

The heat shield was my first thought cause you when removing the primary downpipes you have to undo one of the bolts so when I put the new downpipes on I just folded it over the new downpipes. But yea like you said I notice it’s only when I turn. I was thinking maybe the steering column is hitting the new downpipe? Which also doesn’t make sense cause the new downpipe is thinner than the stock cause of all the heat shielding around the factory downpipe. I’m planning on taking it to an exhaust shop today to see there thoughts. It’s just bugging the hell out me.
