Hello, recently got my rear tyre blown off after running into a pothole, stock Michelin tyres 6k miles in, so I changed both rear tyres to the same OE setup 255/35, a week later I ran into another pothole which blew my rear tyre again on the other side. Got all 4 tyres changed today with more meat and my question is will I run into any problems messing with the OEM size fittings?

235/40/19 FRONT
255/40/19 REAR

I live in the Middle East and we have a lot of pot holes so thought more meat is better but I’m not sure of the tyre dimension differences and what if there will be any extra work for the car to deal with.

searching around and learning about sidewall height right now, think the diameter difference is 2.39% which seems high, I can get them swapped out tomorrow, looking for the best setup to protect my car from potholes, would 235/40 F and 265/35 R be better than what I just had installed?

go 235/40 front and 265/35 rear. I've been on this for 2 years with no issues. the second number is a percentage, not an absolute height. a 235/40 tire is 40 percent as tall as it is wide. the ride is much nicer with no handling compromise, at least on the streets.
