Hi. Not sure what you're describing. But yesterday I "hit it" (though short of WOT) while in Eco and holy moly did she take off: it felt like a launch. As I backed off and coasted toward the stop sign ahead I noticed two things: I was going way faster than I thought before I let off (caught me by surprise, she did), and the RPMs were holding as if in Sport mode. I don't recall experiencing that before either (in more than four years, heh). I'm not complaining, mind you, just observing a phenomenon that seems unique. So, I'm going to guess that your sudden jump to 2.5K RPM (that isn't very high, by the way) is in line with "light acceleration": you hit on the sweet spot where downshifting feels, well, "sporty", even in Eco.
