i'm planning on getting the ace AFF02 wheels, 20x9 fronts/20x10 rears. the shop i work with is recommending 235/35/20 front tires and 265/30/20 rear tires. i want that beefy look and am not sure this combo will give me that, especially out back. i was thinking of going with 275/30/20 rear tires instead. the shop doesn't want to go a full inch larger than the oem diameter as they want to be 100% sure they won't rub. they believe these would work, but are admittedly playing it safe. however, i see a lot of stingers running considerably larger set ups.

looking for opinions. i have a '19 GT AWD with ark springs.

these are the numbers from tire rack...

front tires:
stock - 225/40/19 = 26.1"H x 8.9"W, Sidewall 3.5", Diameter 26.1"
shop suggestion - 235/35/20 = 26.5"H x 9.3"W, Sidewall 3.2", Diameter 26.5"

rear tires:
stock - 255/35/19 = 26"H x 10"W, Sidewall 3.5", Diameter 26"
shop suggestion - 265/30/20 = 26.3"H x 10.4"W, Sidewall 3.1", Diameter 26.3"
my suggestion - 275/30/20 = 26.5"H x 10.8"W, Sidewall 3.2", Diameter 26.5"

I’m on 20x9 et32 245/35r20 and 20x10.5 et47 285/30r20 lowered with H&R and not one rub on awful NJ roads and some spirited driving.

The front wheels are pretty close to the struts; safe, but I couldn’t run coilovers.

265/30/20 is already paper thin sidewall and will stretch like hell on a 10" wheel. Who in their right mind would tell you to do that? I'd be surprised if that was even above the Stinger's recommended tire load rating.

245/35/20 front, 285/30/20 rear. That barely stretches on my 10.5" rear wheels, it's been proven to fit under the car by plenty of people, and it'll look very nice on what you're proposing, especially if you want something more beefy. I was actually looking at those wheels at one point.

Take a look around the forum or online. Plenty of us with those sizes. If you decide you want more sidewall, it may be better to stick to 19's.

From my research, it seems like 245/30/20’s up front and 285/30/20’s out back are a common combo. However, I have read about instances of minor rubbing with this setup. If I wanted to go slightly smaller diameter to avoid any chance of rubbing, I was thinking of running 235/30/20 and 275/30/20 instead. Does that sound about right?

The end result is I’d like to go as wide as possible with no chance of rubbing, needing spacers, etc. Any other suggestions are welcome. Thx.
