Hi!
New here…and just recently purchased a used 2019 KIA STINGER GT2 AWD with around 47k on the odometer and super clean.
Also just had the SC300 Recall LH Turbocharger oil feed line done (along with a full synthetic oil change) and so far so good (crossing fingers).
Love the car…but a little concerned about a ticking sound from under the hood that lasts for about 30 seconds upon start but then goes away.
Took it into KIA Service and they did a video/audio of it and sent it to KIA TECH LINE for analysis. KIA TECH LINE said compare it side-by-side with another well maintained GT2 and see if there is a difference.
KIA Service said my sounded a bit louder and am still waiting to hear from KIA TECH LINE if this is something that needs follow-up / possibly tear-down for repair.
Not sure why I haven’t heard a definitive answer from the official TECH-LINE folks, but from what I have researched on my own is that it sounds like a typical startup noise from the high-speed fuel pump. I initially wondered if it could be a lifter noise but figured the sound would be constant instead of just 30 second noise.
Has anyone experienced this similar ticking noise that goes away quickly?
Is this ticking just typical with no serious future issues?
Thanks!
