I've tested my local E85, and calculated what my tank mix & octane should be (4 gallons of ~E78 in 15.9 gallons gets me around E27 / 96 octane, I think). But I wanted to test my actual tank contents, and don't have a Fuel-It system yet, so I put some 1/4" tubing down my filler tube and hit an obstruction before I reached gas. No luck trying to snake it around.

Anyone know if there's some kind of filter or anti-siphon device? Or just too sharp a bend to get around? How are you guys sampling your tank gas, short of opening a line under the hood and making a mess?

New cars have anti siphon valve. I do have fuel it so I know my mix.
