My initial reaction to this website: I am not sure, that this is what I would want or need. If Kia follows the same route, where is the differentiation?
You are probably aware that Genesis seems to go into the "Concierge" business, i.e. someone will come to your home, pick you up for the test drive, presumably take you back after, similar with warranty and other maintenance visits, will likely provide a loaner, etc. etc.
The Genesis/Hyundai dealership would/will have to hire personnel and incur additional expenses all to be borne by the customer. Coddling your customers cost money.
After all, there is a reason why Genesis is asking for the
G80 5-10K more than Kia for the Stinger, and I doubt it's found in the steel or extra padding of the interior.
I don't need the snootiness experienced personally in "high end" establishments such as Mercedes, BMW, Acura (& others of this ilk) dealerships.
Don't get me wrong, I like the Genesis cars, I just don't want to pay for how they are "packaged".
I'd have no problems with brand specific apps, OTA downloads and updates for the vehicles and high quality vehicle engineering, combined with mechanical competence and great service at the dealership, including a car wash. That would/should be all included in the purchase price.
A brand should be known for it's quality merchandise and attitude toward customers. Toyota, VW, and a slew of other brands are all competent in providing service at a level that would satisfy most clients. I am confident, Kia could achieve and exhibit that sort of competence.
I hope I will soon see a Stinger at the dealership....
