Ok, I know engines pretty well. I know every bad noise pretty well. Tick, knocks, rattles...heard them all except this one. It’s related to The fan somehow...it’s from the passenger back side area, and it’s intermittent. Car was at idle in the garage with ax running. Thought it was the sound of water off the exhaust...nope
Water was pouring out from under the car as humidity was off the charts and the noise sounded like a vacuum leak or rattle, wasn’t from the accessory drive area. I switched from ac to heat as the sound was still there until I shut off the hvac which shut off the engine fan. Turned ac back on and the sound came back intermittent again. Is there some sort of discharge valve or relay to activate something hvac related near the firewall area of the system? I can’t explain it well....couldn’t get it on camera. It’s like a rattle... higher pitches and faster than the fuel pump and not an injector or tapper. I’m stumped
