I decided to change the front and rear speakers on my base 2.0T Stinger today. There are a woofer and a tweeter in the front door and a woofer in the rear door for a total of six speakers. Base 2.0T Stinger doesn't have an external amp. The stock head unit drives all six speakers. This link says the the stock head unit only sends one signal to each woofer, which is then split up for the tweeter on the front door. http://www.kstinger.com/audio_unit-742.html
I bought JL Audio C1-650 components for the fronts and Kicker 46CS674 two-way for the rears. Sound is significantly improved even with stock head unit. Much better mid-bass. Less muddy.

- Metra 72-7302 wire harness works perfectly with stock woofer wire. No splicing needed.
- American International HKSB110 speaker brackets also work with the Stinger.
- Stock front and rear woofers are identical and are labeled 4 ohm 20/40W.
- Stock front tweeter is labeled 3 ohm 20/40W.
- Stock front tweeter has an in-line high pass filter.
- Front tweeter bracket hole is approximately 1.5 inch in diameter. I was able to dremel out the plastic to mount the JL Audio tweeter. If you have a tweeter that is 1.5 inch or smaller, you should be able to do the same.
- There is a convenient brace on the inner door panel next to the woofer to attach a crossover.
