Good morning (where I am its 8:43 AM), all.
I wanted to ask the group about a slight burning rubber smell that I have noticed since I purchased my Stinger. Some details about the car, and then when and where the smell is generated.
I have a RWD 2020 GT-Line which has the 2.0T motor. I have the JB4 installed and have been using the E30 map. I love the way the car drives and pulls; muuuuch harder than stock for sure!
I am not 100% as to what actions are causing the smell, however if I am driving "spiritedly" both in "manual" mode and auto I will smell it at the rear of the car/rear tires. I'm not intentionally losing traction/laying rubber as that would be the easiest solution.
I recently had the alignment checked and corrected. I was thinking it might have been out of alignment thus causing additional wear in the rear thus leading to the smell.
When I said "driving spiritedly" I am not giving it the beans in and out of turns/straight aways, just having some fun.

I know this might not be an answerable question, but wanted to see if there were any common experiences with the group. I did a search but didn't find anything.

Thank you all, and I hope you have a great Wednesday.

Not all tires make loud squeals when they break loose. I have nitto 555g2's and they are dead silent, which is annoying because even on map 2 (3.3) it is *Extremely easy* to break the tires loose.

Anyway, it's probably your tires letting you know that you had fun. Pop open the hood and sniff around just to make sure nothing is melting, like fell onto the exhaust/turbo.

From what you are describing... sounds like its the smell of the car enjoying itself. My wife can always tell when ive been out beating on the car by the smell of the brakes and tires when i pull it into the garage lol.

Yeah - you are probably correct.
