So, after much researching on here, I went and attempted to install a small 8" Kicker hideaway powered sub today. I was baffled by the results and ended up taking it out.

For starters, the red wiring harness clip was an absolute bastard to get out! Blue came out no problem. Took me a total of like 40 minutes on that thing, between the two times I had to remove it for testing and initial. Interestingly, on my 22, there is no indication on I or II or anything else, like I have seen in pics of prior years. Its just a sticker that has red and blue, so still easy to follow along from prior writeups.

So those odd results? The sub was BARELY pushing any power. And that was after cranking all the settings to max. I have used this sub before so I know it puts out some good bass. I thought I'd check the QLS settings to see if changing it might make a difference. IT WAS GONE! I tried different sources too, thinking something was up, to no avail. The hatch also wouldn't close...? It would open normally, but refused to power close.

Because of all of these oddities, and having ZERO patience left after that damn clip, I decided to take everything out and try again another day to troubleshoot. Started the car to move it back to where I normally park it (had it in the shade to work on it) and the trunk closed normally and the QLS settings were back.

Anyone else have any baffling experiences like this? Did I do something wrong I wasn't aware of? I've been doing car audio tinkering for 18 years now.
