Hi
I am considering changing stock wheels for lighter and wider ones.
The wheel spec would be:
19x8.5j +35 / 19x9.5j +38
and I would need to fit tyres accordingly,
but I am hesitating between these two setups:
(a) 245-40-19 / 275-35-19
(b) 245-35-19 / 275-30-19
※ stock: 225-40-19 / 255-35-19
In theory, b) is the closest diameter to stock,
but most Stinger owners in the korean forums get the a) setup. (9 out of 10)
Personally, I am worried of several things:
- a) Worse straight line performance due to the wider diameter and heavier tyre.
- a) Worse fuel economy for the same reasons
- b) A worse ride quality due to a thinner sidewall
- b) The wheel well looking more "empty"
What would you chose? Do you think there will be a noticeable difference in terms of ride quality and acceleration between the two configurations?
Also, will the wider tyre cancel the benefits of lighter wheels (32lbs->20lbs)?
