Rooftop Antenna Functions?

i believe that the antenna on the Stinger's roof is used to receive GPS and Sirius XM signals. Can it also serve as an antenna for transmitting signals? Does the Kia UVO system have its own connection to the outside world for functions such as Parking Minder, Roadside Assist, 911 Connect, etc. or does it always rely on my mobile phone?

Also, when my phone (Apple iPhone with CarPlay) is connected to the Stinger via USB, does it have use of the superior location of the antenna on the roof or is it still (just) a mobile phone trapped inside a car?

It has a modem too for handling UVO and other things, but I don't know if it's also through the sharkfin antenna.
