Looking for advice on replacing the driver side rear door. I was able to find a replacement door at a scrapyard that matches my paint. If anyone has replaced the entire door before, are there any gotchas or is it as simple as it seems like it should be? I will have to take the door card off the damaged door because I have a black interior and the replacement door has a red one.

Should be simply off-on. My neighbor recently replaced his damaged door, same one, on his Tribute edition. With the paint match and everything I think the body shop charged c. $3,000. I wish I could be more specific. You both were lucky that no damage extended beyond the door itself.

How did that damage happen? It looks like some giant cork screw thing tried to bore through your door.

An 18-wheeler decided he wanted to be in my lane while I was still in it.... You can see part of my door still in the lug nuts

Man. That could have been so much worse. That rig could have moved down the side of your car like a can opener. So glad for you that it only smacked your one door!

I do my best to get out of the vicinity of any big vehicles, by a quick pass usually. I never drive beside them.
