Has anyone replaced the chrome trim pieces on the Stinger GT hatch? On mine, they are discolored perhaps from exposure to the sun here in Florida. I checked with the dealer and they want $500+ to replace these which seems a bit steep. I was able to find the parts on a Kia parts website for about $160 each (American) and might tackle it myself, but wondering how difficult it is. The car is now out of warranty (2020 GT).

They remove and install easily enough, judging by earlier forum descriptions. Someone will weigh in. I haven't personally removed any window/hatch trim pieces. I've seen CF wrapped, so, probably faux. And black wrap. Other's have painted all the window/hatch trim gloss black to match the other piano black accents. My solution is to buff hard when I dry them, this minimizes/prevents discoloration. But when it happens, use a polishing compound. In your case, it has already happened. The discoloration is only surface. I have Flitz metal polish in reserve for if I need to get the spots out.
