My take away, and rule I live by. If there's any issue with the car during test drive and subsequent inspection (including underneath), never accept the car, assuming it will be repaired subsequently. Sure there's a warranty, but why open yourself up for issues right out of the gate. Once you sign the paperwork in the finance office, the car is yours.
