Just bought a new 2022 Stinger, Noticed that the strip along the top of the side Windows are covered with very nice strips of black tape. i suspect they are for protection during shipping and the dealer just missed them in the prep. However they are not just ordinary cheap plastic film and not clear like the other protective film. They look like they are pretty special formed pieces meant to provide a black look all around the side windows. There is chrome underneath. I will check with the dealer but I am concerned they don’t know either and will just give me an answer to keep me happy. I think those on this forum are a more reliable source, anyone experienced this and/or know what these strips are?

Those are there for protection during shipping and are normally removed before the vehicle is purchased. Not sure how long they will stay on as you drive around, don't want them flying off into another vehicle.

Personally I prefer the black look as the chrome underneath can start to look like crap overtime: Trim looks like crap

I discovered my black strip on the chrome over the door (front passenger) only c. a month into ownership as I was washing my car, stepped back to look and noticed for the first time that it didn't match the strip over the rear passenger door. This was the first of many shipping plastic pieces that I discovered for well over a year (the rest were all interior). :D
