Hi, all. My 2019 Stinger GT(2) has surpassed 160,000km recently and a minor problem has occurred since. When I close the power hatch/lift gate, it goes down about 90% of the way, then beeps and goes back up. Usually it only does that if someone obstructs it from closing but there is literally nothing in the way, no items or even cargo cover. It closes almost all the way, then beeps and opens right away with almost no pause. I’m assuming it’s something with the sensor? Or maybe one of my struts isn’t strong enough to close it?

Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thank you, Stinger fam!

Edit: in order for me to close my hatch, I have to apply a bit of force whens it’s about to close and it closes properly.

There's a calibration for it. Open it and position it manually where you want it. Hold the close button for more than 3 seconds. Close the gate after hearing the buzzer sound. Usually this is for height up, maybe it'll fix height down for you.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to remedy it. If I press and hold trunk button on key fob as soon as it raises back up and press it again, it goes back down and closes, no problem. It also seems to close 1/5times with no issues but the other times it keeps opening back up so I gotta help it close. :(
