Piece of metal ductwork flew underneath the car

There was no way to miss it. I’m very pissed but glad I didn’t hit it with a wheel...or damage the bumper, or anything vital underneath. It was already flat enough that it went underneath and made a very loud “thunk”. It tore up one of the protective panels...ripped a piece of it off and crushed the rest of it. Anyone know how much one of those panels may cost? It tore off one of the brackets that hold it on. I was able to pull it mostly straight. Is it worth replacing?

Pry tool, 10mm socket, flashlight, ski mask, local dealer at night...
 
Yes, they are costly. I replaced the two front undercarriage panels a year and a half ago and, as I recall, the total (with install) was pushing $500.

Sorry that you got ambushed! Establish more distance (reaction time) between you and the vehicle in front. :thumbup:

I’m usually on it with that, but this sucker came sliding out of nowhere.
