It is a nicely cut solid piece of aluminum, nothing much can go wrong there. Installed, it does give a more dramatic look which I like. Functionality however, you are probably gaining at most 1/2inch of usable extension on each end of the paddle (top and bottom), anything beyond that and it will twist the original paddle to the point that it will not always click to shift.
Would I recommend, depends on what you bought it for. I wanted it for functionality, so probably not. If you are going for the looks then go for it.
