Stinger Enthusiast
Okay, admittedly the title is probably way more exciting than what actually happened. A few nights ago we had a guy steal a package off our porch, we called the police but unfortunately we couldn't see the license plate or his face on the camera because he wore a mask. I had a good long talk with my wife after about why leaving packages on the front porch all night was not a good idea, but alas it happened again last night a little after midnight. This time the guy pulled up, looked at what the package was and apparently didn't want it and dropped it. He ran back to his bike and took off. I threw on a shirt and ran out to my Stinger and chased after them, all 365 HP and 376 lbft of torque was needed to catch the bike riding thieves. I didn't think I'd actually find them, but there they were maybe a mile down the road just casually riding along like they hadn't done anything, no attempt to hide themselves at all. They even had bright headlights and little tail lights on their bikes which made them easily visible. Me being an occasional hothead my original intention was to confront them when I caught them, luckily as I approached them I remembered I'm an adult and that that was a very stupid idea so I called the cops instead. I lost sight of them at one point, and this was after one of them turned off the lights on his bike, so I thought I'd messed up and spooked them. I started to drive home in defeat but decided I would make one more pass anyways, on my way back I saw 3 police cars all lit up and the A-hole being arrested. It was one of those glorious moments you dream about but never actually seem to get.
It turned out that even though he didn't take anything from us it was a good thing I called the cops anyways. The guy was a real piece of work, the officer told me that he had a lot of stolen items on him, including the bike he was riding. It was a very nice bike that was apparently about $1300 and it looked like it was set up to be someone's main mode of transportation, so I'm glad that person will be getting it back. But he also apparently had other people's passports as well, I can only imagine what he was planning to do with things like that. I'm not sure if the two thefts were related, the guy had a similar build and was dressed the same as the other guy that stole from us, but that guy at least had enough sense to wear a mask so we'll probably never know unless he admits to being the same person.
Anyways, the real hero here was the Stinger, I couldn't have done it without it! But for real thank you to the Murray City PD for their quick response.
