Hey everyone. I think the last person who owned my car did a wax job but forgot to wipe it off of the chrome all the way on the trim that runs from trunk along roof. What do you recommend for stripping it off? I don’t want to damage it but it’s looking faded and gross right now.

That could simply be the frequently mentioned "trim spotting" issue. Some get their trim replaced under warranty. Others use various cleaners/removers. And still others use milder solutions and elbow grease. Those that are successful at removing the spots and discoloration then apply either wax or ceramic coat to knock back a repetition of the problem.

I think that the difference in those who experience this and those (like myself, knock on wood) who do not is atmospheric, combined with how much exposure to very hot sunlight the car is subjected to. If there is a chemical component added to this, it would be some cleaners that are not user friendly with this particular finish that Kia uses on the dark chrome pieces.

megs.webpit's like Franks Red Hot Sauce , put this S - - t on everything nasty

I tried the above on my trim and after like twenty minutes of rubbing and buffing, it didn't help at all. i gave up and painted it gloss black. looks much better now!
