Can someone explain what the difference is?

Example, I'll ask the nav to find a place, it will show me a route on the map. That route will contain a gray section and a green section.

Green is light traffic. It can also be yellow or red for heavier traffic. Grey is no traffic details.

This is only available on connected (UVO) cars.

Here's a wrench to throw in your wheel :), I don't have uvo connected/registered. I think we do have hd traffic in this area. I finally registered to get into the xm account. Appears only the audio portion is part of the trial, unless traffic is part of that audio plan. An agent I spoke with confirmed it is only audio.

On the gps, it does shows hd traffic up at the top. I can't find any reference other than licensing in the manual re xm traffic. There were some other posts here on older cars giving one the option to choose which traffic provider to use, but appears it's just hd traffic in the newer vehicles.

Ya sorry, traffic is also broadcast over FM in some areas. So uvo, sirrius, and FM are all sources of traffic data.
