Hi all,
Recently traded my 2013 Optima SXL for 2018 Stinger Premium AWD, with the "nanny" package.

I'd participated in the "Stinger Experience" program back in March/2018 at Gillette Stadium. The demo vehicles were all GT2 of course and i was duly impressed. But I did not need another rocket sled already having a Corvette in the garage.

I got a decent test drive experience with 2 different Stingers at 2 different dealers, a base model RWD and a 2.0 Premium AWD. I negotiated an excellent deal and purchased the 2.0 Premium.

I've got about 2K miles on the new car now and I really love it. It's pretty much everything that i expected with the exception that it feels a bit sluggish compared to my 2013 Optima SXL. I've tried running it on 93 octane for a couple of tanks and that has not seemed to provided any tactile benefits. I know the Stinger is down 25 HP and 25 #s torque compared to the Optima. Certainly the Stinger is heavier and has more drive-line parasite losses so I don't know why Kia would choke off the power. It's not awful, mind you, just a bit disappointing.

I'd love to find a safe and efficient way to get those missing ponies back under the hood. Any thoughts?

AWD is known for not "feeling" as fast as a car driving only one axle. Doesn't mean it isnt faster and off the line it most certainly is faster than your Optima. I'd be curious about a stock 2.0T AWD stinger vs a stock YF Sonata/Optima from a roll..

To answer your question either a couple of parts like an intake and some exhaust parts or a tune by itself should easily fix that for ya. :P

Welcome TomB! Congrats on the car! You might want to check out the tuning section to see what's being done and available for your ride.

Welcome. Suggest you ask your question over in the Stinger Talk or Engine, Drivetrain and Exhaust forums - this is for intros and non-Stinger discussion, so the answer you seek is probably already over there...
