I've just gone through the task of swapping plugs to HKS45il & regapped them to 0.28, initial start up seemed fine, but after coming into work today and car being warm the engine thumps quite hard every few seconds at stop lights & occasional jump at 3000rpm, I've not reinstalled the Racechip because I wanted to check everything was OK first. This is my first time gapping plugs, used a feeler gauge to do it, but just worried I've screwed something up, also didn't remove manifold & plugs torqued to 22ft/lbs.

Sorted, I'd bought the wrong gauge which was in the same rack with all the spark plugs & massively under gapped them mm not inches. So I've used a wire & a coin gauge, just over 0.25 on the wire and 0.30 on the coin, I've been told the wire gauge is more accurate but at least it now idles fine. but have to order a new plug as I'd damaged the tip of the electrode so gapped an old plug & put it in until a replacement arrives.

.023" gap = .584mm.

I'm surprised your car even ran at half that gap LOL. Glad you got it sorted, now you have more practice removing those pain-in-the-ass passenger side plugs!

Yikes shoot for 0.022" on the gap.
