Hey everyone, anyone have any experience getting the LH valve cover off on the 3.3?

I’ve got an oil control valve that’s gone bad I think, working on getting to it.

It doesn’t seem too bad if not for a few pain points, was wondering if anyone had any pointers or tricks.

Particularly, getting the low pressure fuel line off the HPFP… how does the fitting work? I don’t want to break it.
Also, the shop manual says to remove the water outlet pipe that runs to the rear of the motor, it looks like it’s held in with a bolt but man does it look impossible to get to.

Any help is appreciated!

I need to do the same thing but for both banks.

Six Questions For You,

My first question is did you ever successfully do it and what made you think it was your solenoids?

And if so, does the engine need to be dropped to access the ocv’s or can you do it while it’s still in the bay?

How many seals do I need when changing the ocv’s? Is it just valve cover gaskets and the ocv gaskets and do I need to use some sealant as well?

Do you have to drain the oil before changing the ocv’s?

Do you have to d/c the battery as well because they’re connected electrically?

And finally, about how long does it take?

Your fellow stinger owner,
Thanks in advance.
