Got a couple of projects done over the long weekend

Plasti Dipped my OEM wheels with a "Brass Monkey" kit from Dip Your Car. I really like how they turned out for a first time job. The dark brass color really pairs well against the smoke chrome. I left the wheels on the car and used plastic bags to mask the rotors and calipers. I feel like about halfway through, I was really starting to get the hand of how the paint sprayed. It's much thicker than spray paint and getting the rhythm and feel for proper coverage is a learning curve. If nothing else, it protects the wheels from light scratches and rocks.

Also spent some time dressing up the engine bay. I was looking into having the strut tower cross braces powder coated or replacing them, but the costs were a little steep. So I did the next best thing and spent $15 on some stickers and transparent vinyl wrap for a custom red tint sticker bomb look. This was pretty fun to put together. Working with the vinyl was really easy once I got a heat gun involved. I'm interested to see how the vinyl holds up under the hood after a regular length drive. :cautious:

Otherwise, I spent the rest of the weekend detailing the car inside and out. Prepping for new AEM intakes to arrive the coming week. I've got one more custom mod in the works - just need to finish painting. It's never done. :D
