I went to Folsom Lake Kia on Friday evening and met with Steve Partido for a test drive of a blue RWD GT. They also had a silky silver 4 and something else on the lot and said they'd sold a red GT2. They're expecting more in and Steve said the GT2s are coming in red and white. The blue was better in person than a lot of the photos. Steve also said there's a $400 charge for keeping the car at the end of the lease.

My dd is a 350Z and while the Stinger feels bigger it in no way feels large. The Z feels more connected to the road which is both a good and a bad thing, since the Stinger was always comfortable in sport mode on bad roads. While I didn't push its limits very hard, the Stinger always felt well planted and was unphased by the bad roads. Brakes were strong and linear. Lots of power with a little turbo lag noticeable at times. I punched it at 60 on the freeway while changing lanes and very quickly said, "I guess we don't really want to be going 90." I didn't try for triple digits but they would have followed quickly and with little apparent effort. I liked the power delivery in sport mode. If you put your foot in it, the car does a rocket imitation but it's very controllable. I caught the transmission shifting on me even when I was using the paddle shifters in sport mode. The shifts did happen quickly in response to the paddle shifters. I mostly let the tranny do it's thing since I liked the shift points and the shifts were quick and smooth. This is a damn nice car.

No pics 'cause it was dark.
