Hey y’all

was wondering if anyone knew or even if someone here has done a dct swap in their stinger, i have a 21 stinger gt and have been thinking of dct swapping it for a while but just didn’t know if anyone has done it before and has any advice or knowledge about it.

Do you have a transmission in mind? To my knowledge, Kia/Hyundai/Genesis do not have a RWD-based DCT/DSG, and as I think about it, there really aren't many in mainstream cars...they're almost all FWD transaxles.

There's the GTR, last-gen M cars (but BMW has gone back to ZF), and I think a couple AMG models (AMG GT or SLS?), but even those were rear transaxles. Then some Ferrari/Maserati front-engine GTs.

It seems like it's still difficult to get a dual clutch to hold high levels of torque and shift smoothly at low speeds, while the modern ZFs and Ford/GM 10R/10L are fast & smooth enough to minimize the shift advantage.

i do not have one in mind i was thinking about the elantra but than again its fwd so it wouldn’t work with the awd stinger.

Yep, same deal with the K5/Sonata. The performance trim for each (GT, N Line) gets a dual clutch, but is FWD-only. You can't even get the FWD-based AWD system with the dual clutch & top engine.

Not sure if this is a transmission limitation or maybe the clutch packs to send power rearward can't handle the extra torque, but it's sad not to see the benefits of DCT/DSG shift speed combined with a proper drivetrain.
