Just wanted to throw my experience out there on Kia of Auburn. I only dealt with them over email, text, and phone. They were fine to deal with when we were trying to come to a price and they did manage to get me a pretty good one. I sent them my info and they charged $1,000 on my credit card to hold the car. As soon as that happened, they became incredibly sluggish to answer text and emails. I discovered they quoted me a tax rate $300 cheaper than the actual tax rate, which would have driven the OTD up that amount. It took over 24 hours to get them to respond to my inquires concerning it and even when they did, they wouldn't send me a written quote with the correct tax rate. In the mean time another dealership gave me an even better price (1k lower) and I decided to go with them. As soon as I told the Auburn dealership I was going with another dealer, they became really short with me, said they were "appalled" at my behavior and have "never seen anything like this before". I cancelled the hold on that car 30 hours before I was supposed to pick it up, the salesman I was dealing with didn't tell anyone at the dealership I cancelled picking up the car (supposedly). The next day the sales manager called me to ask what time I would be arriving and that they were currently detailing the car. When I told him I had cancelled getting the car 24 hours prior, he didn't believe me and wanted documentation that I cancelled it.
It's now been a week since I cancelled getting the car. I've asked both the salesman and sales manager to refund the charge on my card multiple times. All requests were met with static until yesterday when the salesman called and asked if I bought the other car, his response was "I'm not in charge of that" concerning refunding me. I've ended up having to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge.
