Today when I try to update the firmware from V19 to v20. It shows update finish and re-start. but when I restart it loses connection. Then the car throws the CEL and becomes wired, like I cannot
ignite for several times. Even after I can ignite and the car moves very slowly and frustrated. After the 50m drive I parked and disconnected JB4 two main connections, the problem disappeared. But when I reconnected it went back.
JB4 App on ios cannot connect it, always say awaiting handshake .

Ignition has to be on, engine off, to load firmware. You can place phone next to JB4 box if you're having a signal strength issue.

If you've gotten to the point that you can't update it your options are to get a 2580 off our site which has firmware preloaded, or email support@jb4connectkit.com with details to see if they can walk you through it.

losing connection is not big concern now; the car can not run with Jb4 attched. is there any way to restart that(Jb4 itself) ? Like, if only the conection problem it will not throw CEL it will just cannot change map.
look like as long as the Jb4 instal the car cannot run(once disconect TMAP abd MAP it will become normal.)

JB4 needs the one red/yellow/black connection installed to power up to attempt to connect or update it. If there is no firmware loaded it can only be updated via the app, a replacement 2580, or sending the control board in to us to be reflashed directly.
